Paola joined Galicia Abogados in 2018 as a senior associate in the Litigation and Arbitration practice. Her practice is focused on domestic and international commercial arbitration proceedings (institutional & ad-hoc) acting as counsel, secretary of the Arbitral Tribunal, co-arbitrator and as Sole Arbitrator; particularly relating to energy, construction, infrastructure and shareholder’s disputes.
She obtained her law degree from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores Monterrey (2013) and her master’s degree in International Legal Studies with certificate in International Arbitration and ADR from Georgetown University (2017).
Paola worked from 2017 to 2018 in DLA Piper (New York) as foreign associate in the arbitration practice, where she participated in complex transnational arbitration cases. Former senior associate of the arbitration practice at DLA Piper México from 2014 to 2017. She initiated her practice as junior associate in the Arbitration practice area of Paramo y Azar Abogados (2013-2014).
She was the editor of the book “Legislación Mexicana de Arbitraje”, Editorial Porrúa, 2015. She is founding member of the Mexico City Very Young Arbitration Practitioners (MXVYAP) and of the Georgetown Law Association of Mexicans; she is member of the ICC YAF, ITA Young and ICCA Young. Paola is the representative of Mexico at the ALARB Next Generation and a member of ICC Arbitration task force of anticorruption.
Recently, The Legal 500 has named her “Rising Star” in the Arbitration practice. For a third year in a row, Who’s Who Legal named her “Future Leader” in Arbitration.
