José Visoso

José’s practice is centered on the belief that our Firm can only be an ally of our clients if we truly understand their business needs and strategies.

He co-heads the M&A and Private Equity group of the Firm. His professional practice focuses on M&A, financings and real estate projects, and he has acted as legal advisor to institutional investors as well as local and international corporations in complex acquisitions. He also advises financial institutions on their lending activities in Mexico.

He is an active officer of the Latin American Regional Forum of the International Bar Association. Chambers and Partners, IFLR1000 and The Legal 500 named him as a leading practitioner in Corporate/M&A in Mexico.

José has a Master’s degree in Law and a Postgraduate degree in Business Administration from Georgetown University, a Postgraduate degree in Legal Aspects of Investment and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Escuela Libre de Derecho (Mexico City). He remains academically active as visiting professor at Universidad Panamericana.

He gained international experience working as a foreign associate at Cleary Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, in the Washington, D.C. and New York offices.

Strongly committed to pro bono, José serves on the board of various non-profit organizations focused on education and vulnerable communities in Mexico.


His native language is Spanish and he is fluent in English with knowledge of German and French.
