backJuan Carlos joined Galicia in 2023 as an associate in the Banking & Finance practice.
He specializes in corporate, real estate and project finance, among others. Juan Carlos has been involved in restructurings, derivatives, and public/private debt issuances in Mexico and abroad.
He has experience advising on financial regulatory matters to different sector entities including investment advisors, multiple purpose financial corporations, general depository warehouses, investment funds, representative offices, payment system participants, financial groups, and rating agencies.
Juan Carlos also has experience on M&A transactions across different sectors, but he specially works in the infrastructure, energy, and pharma industries.
He is an external counsel to the Pro Bono foundation Iluminando con Amor, A.C.
Juan Carlos obtained his law degree from the Universidad Panamericana, defending his dissertation “Sovereign Immunity from Enforcement of Central Banks under the United Nations Convention on Jurisdictional Immunities of States and their Property.” He is currently coursing a master’s degree in Financial Law Institutions at the same university.
