Ricardo joined Galicia in 2020 as an associate in the Insurance practice.
His practice specializes in regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and licensing processes for direct insurers, insurance brokers and reinsurers, for domestic and foreign companies, before various Mexican regulation agencies, such as the Mexican Ministry of Finance and the Mexican Insurance & Bonding Commission.
Ricardo also advises worldwide insurance companies to establish their presence and representative offices as well as start-up transactions within Mexican territory. His experience includes advising and investigating multi-jurisdictional insurance and reinsurance claims along with complex coverage disputes. His litigation background gives him a unique focus in dealing with new operations and an innovative approach to handle claims.
He offers assistance and advice to non-insurance corporate clients on complex insurance and reinsurance matters, including resolutions of regulatory issues, preparation of insurance and reinsurance agreements, and the analysis/negotiation of insurance and reinsurance claims.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ricardo worked as an associate in major global law firms.
He finished his studies at Universidad Panamericana (2017), obtained his law degree from the same institution, successfully completed the Insurance and Bonds Diploma at Escuela Libre de Derecho (2019) and completed the Contract Law Diploma from Harvard and Edex (2023).
