Eduardo specializes in Tax Law. Clients benefit from his invaluable experience closing several national and cross-border transactions across various sectors and industries. Eduardo joined the firm in 2022 as an associate and as of January 2026, is Partner in the Tax practice.
Eduardo has provided tax advisory services to foreign and Mexican clients including pensions, investment and private equity funds, financial institutions, sovereign funds, nonprofit organizations, corporations and individuals, among others, regarding day-to-day operations, mergers and acquisitions (acquisition or sale of assets, real estate and intangibles), tax restructures, capital markets, lending and maquila tax regimes.
He has rendered tax advisory services to foreign and Mexican clients dedicated to innovative models and digital platforms in the crypto, financial, and gambling sectors. He has also advised different clients on compliance and due control of companies to prevent and mitigate tax liabilities and crimes. Additionally, Eduardo has participated in private investigations related to tax felonies and has collaborated with criminal defense lawyers in tax crime preparations.
Before joining Galicia, he was a senior associate for over six years at a renowned Mexican law firm. Eduardo also worked as a criminal defense lawyer at a boutique firm and for the General Attorney’s Office of Mexico in the Tax and Financial Crimes Unit.
He received his bachelor’s degree in law with honors from Escuela Libre de Derecho (2012). He later received his master’s degree in Tax Law with honors from Universidad Panamericana (2018). Eduardo has been a professor for many tax and criminal law courses in the undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Escuela Libre de Derecho, Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México and Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey.
